As previously reported on RCS, a juror on Buju Banton’s drug trafficking case, Terri Wright, allegedly admitted to misconduct. Buju’s new attorney, Chokwe Lumumba filed a motion and the judge has agreed to an evidentiary hearing.
The evidentiary hearing will take place on December 20 in Tampa, Florida. Basically, what an evidentiary hearing will do is to look into whether or not the juror did indeed violate the judge’s order by conducting independent research during Buju Banton’s trial (nee Mark Myrie).
If the judge determines that there was misconduct, this could result in a mistrial for Buju Banton. I hope that this is the break Buju needs!
