Caribbean-born PR Guru Receives ACE Award
The ACE Awards (Artist of Color in Entertainment) was recently held in Atlanta, GA. The event is the creation of Yvette Caslin, SVP of strategy and development for Rolling Out. The ACE Awards aims to elevate and support women of color in working towards and creating careers in the entertainment industry. This year one of the honorees was a very accomplished PR/Media guru from the Caribbean!
The award ceremony emphasizes empowerment and support from established industry leaders. This year’s recipients were Wendy Corona of WSB TV, Marissa Mitchell of Fox 5 TV, Cynne’ Simpson of Fox 5 TV, Sharon Reed of CBS 46 TV, LaChina Robinson of ESPN and last, but in no way least, Beyonce‘s publicist Yvette Noel-Schure of Schure Media Group, .
Grenadian born Yvette Noel-Schure gave an emotional and thoughtful speech on receiving her award. She talked about growing up in Grenada and later moving to the United States and explained that her family structure helped along the way. He father was not even aware of the viability of PR Management as a source of employment. Of the many notables who have been managed by Yvette’s organization includes: Mariah Carey, Prince and currently Beyonce.
After the presentation, Yvette Noel-Schure was given a portrait of herself painted on the Grenada flat. She got emotional and upon learning that the presenter of the artwork Lisa George was also Grenadian she began to scream with joy. Lisa who also works in PR Management explained, “She is my hero in this industry and I wanted to do this for her.”
