Kontrol Magazine’s much talked about awards ceremony Kontrol Your Destiny Awards (KYD Awards) went down last Thursday. Julian Lark, Kontrol’s Magazine’s editor-in-chief, managed to pull together a very eclectic mix of nominees and Atlanta tastemakers for a memorable night of style and swag!
The event was very well attended and who doesn’t want to attend an event which pays homage to local celebrities (such as yours truly!!!). There were more people to walk the red carpet than space allowed. I know Atlanta is known for traffic jams but on a traffic jam on the red carpet — that’s a first! As Rafael Cox (Designer of the Year Nominee) said, “chile, this is Atlanta, urbody is somebody!”
I was nominated for Blogger of the Year and walked the red carpet like a Hollywood starlet or least that’s how I felt!!! It was loads of fun and Rafael (Season 9 Project Runway) had me dying with laughter – he’s a bit kray kray!
Alas, I didn’t win Blogger of the Year (Talking with Tami took this honor) but it was fun rocking out like a starlet if only for a few hours.
