Riverside Church Theatre was host to an Evening of Women of Excellence in the Arts recently in Harlem, New York. The esteemed panel included Mona Scott-Young (Haitian), Executive Producer of Love & Hip Hop, Melba Moore, Tony Award winning Broadway Actress & singer, Malikha Malette, NYC Radio Personality Power 105.1FM, Jacquie Lee, Associate Producer of A Street Car Named Desire, Winsome Sinclair
(Jamaican), Hollywood Casting Director and Lillias White, Tony Award winning Broadway Actress. The event was facilitated by television personality Havilah Malone.
This distinguished panel of women discussed everything from sexism in the industry to career and personal life balance. During the question and answer segment Mona Scott-Young and Winsome Sinclair answered questions pertaining to getting Caribbean programming more visible on the small and big screen. They both offered great advice. Mona Scott-Young is the Executive Producer of the top rated VH1 show “Love and Hip Hop”. She was extremely approachable and kind. She took pictures w/well-wishers well into the night and socialized with the artistic crowd at the VIP reception after the red carpet. It was a night to remember.
