The Oscar nominations were announced this morning and, as usual, there were a few surprises. Movie buffs believed there were a few stunning omissions including Ben Affleck for ‘Argo‘. However, not so surprising was Denzel Washington’s nomination for Best Actor for performance in ‘Flight’.
Denzell was phenomenal in this performance. Kudos to Mr. Washington!! Cannot wait to see the infamous Denzel strut on the Oscars red carpet!
Another nominee of color is the youngest Oscar nominee in the history of the Academy! 9-year old Quvenzhané Wallis is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Beasts of the Southern Wild. . Wallis plays Hushpuppy, an imaginative young girl living with her father in an isolated Louisiana swampland.
