WHAT: A press conference to announce the carnival parade route, festival village and events surrounding the 2012 Atlanta Caribbean Carnival. There will also be a showcasing of masquerade bands‘ costumes, and recognition of diverse community leaders who are instrumental in progressing the understanding, awareness, and support of Caribbean Arts and Culture. This event will serve to illustrate the depth of the significance of the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival’s theme: “ATLANTA CARNIVAL IS MAS AND MUSIC Celebrating 24 Years.“ ACCBA will also recognize the contributions of select elected officials, most notably Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Atlanta City Council Member Kwanza Hall, representing District 2. The press conference will also recognize the selected Grand Marshall for the Parade of Bands taking place May 26, 2012.
