Marriott International, Inc. announced the opening of its third Renaissance property in Atlanta, the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel (www.renaissanceatlantamidtown.com). The opening event stayed true to its neighborhood feel, brought to life with a performance by Grammy-award nominee and Atlanta local Janelle Monae. And, thankfully, Janell Monae has changed up her look and I like it!!!!

“We are proud to welcome this new gem into the Renaissance portfolio and Atlanta family,” said Tina Edmundson, senior vice president of Lifestyle Brands for Marriott International. “Renaissance believes in discovering the hidden locales of every city, and I cannot imagine a better way to celebrate this new Atlanta hotel than with the city’s very own Atlanta super star Janelle Monae.”

Last night, the Renaissance Hotel’s entertainment platform, RLife LIVE, added to its portfolio of A-List and emerging artists an exclusive performance for guests attending the opening event. RLife LIVE, which launched in October 2010, continues to be a leading entertainment hospitality program dedicated to providing guests and local patrons with the opportunity to engage with musical talent on-site at various hotels.

The Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel wows guests with its 442-gallon salt water aquarium and dramatic backlit onyx ceiling and wall in the living-room styled lobby. It also features a second-floor outside rooftop lounge and bar, Rooftop 866. Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy local, sophisticated cuisine atBriza Restaurant, located adjacent to the hotel. The hotel restaurant boastsChef Janine Falvo’sinnovative farm-to-table southern inspired cuisine. Culinary offerings include everything from indigenous fried green tomato-ham hock eggs Benedict to veal sweetbread “parmesan.” ChefJanine highlights the bounty of local farms and whimsically plays with textures and flavors with the help of techniques including liquid nitrogen and sous vide.

The Renaissance Atlanta Midtown offers a boutique feel in the heart of Midtown, where locals can make Briza restaurant and Rooftop 866 their favorite after work or late night hangout. Upcoming events at the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown include a performance by emerging artist MatthewMayfield on October 14.
