Congratulations and biggups are in order for dancehall veteran Mr. Vegas. GooglePlay announced its Best of 2012: Top 50 Albums and Mr. Vegas’ Sweet Jamaica made the cut!
The album, a celebration and tribute to Jamaica’s 50th Anniversary of independence, is a virtual who’s who in reggae music. Released on May 29th on Mr. Vegas’ very own imprint, MV Music, the double disc LP, “Sweet Jamaica” features Shaggy, Luciano, Jovi Rockwell, Nadine Sutherland, Josey Wales, Patrice Roberts and backed by crucial production from Mikey Bennett, Sly & Robbie and Steelie & Clevie.
The album and the title song is my personal pick for the Jamaica 50 Song. After a year fraught with trials and tribulations, this is a great way for Mr. Vegas to end the year for Mr. Vegas. He is and remains one of my favorite Caribbean personalities!
