On Saturday, November 13, the 2ndAnnual Pressure Buss Pipe & Friends concert returned to the Washington, DC area to bring reggae fans an unforgettable night of electrifying performances from some of today’s favorite reggae artists. Reggae music lovers traveled from as far as New York, Miami, Atlanta, and even the US Virgin Islands (V.I. Massive!!) to attend the special music event at the Hampton Conference Center in Capitol Heights, MD.
Local radio personality Papa WaBe served as the evening’s show host and concert attendees were entertained between performances by hot caribbean deejays, Reggae Star International and Powertone Sound’s DJ Showtime & New York. Event sponsor, the US Virgin Islands’ Department of Tourism, was also onsite to raffle off concert
giveaways, distribute special gift bags, as well as to promote the island’s upcoming activities and efforts.
Popular reggae music bands, Dub 340 and Storm, lifted the concert experience playing LIVE music for the artists. Performers included Grammy Award-winning reggae singer Mykal Rose, keyboardist turned singer Maurice, Virgin Islands’ Revalation da Royal, local reggae artist Monsoon, and up-and-coming female reggae songstress,
Empress Shaneece.
Event headliner Pressure Buss Pipe closed out the evening, bringing the electrifying energy and soulful passion his fans love him for. The reggae sensation performed a collection of his popular conscious tunes, including hits “Coming Back For You”, “Ghetto Life”, and crowd favorite “Love and Affection”. Pressure Buss Pipe’s last CD, “Coming Back For You” was rated #2 in United Reggae’s “Top Reggae Albums of 2009” music critic’s list and he’s currently busy in the studio working on a fresh menu of new music to bring his ever-rising reggae fan base.
