IRAWMA Announces Lifetime Achievement Awardees 2016 – Cedella Marley, The Cables, VP Records, IRIE FM & More

The IRAWMA Awards announced today its Special Lifetime/Hall of Fame, Award of Honor & Industry Recipients for 2016 which will be received on October 2, 2016 in Coral Springs, Florida. This year’s recipients are The Cables- Rocksteady legends from 1962; Willie Stewart– a music legend from the 1960s and formerly of Third World; Cedella Marley– former Melody Makers member and daughter of Bob Marley, and the Dance Master, G.T. Taylor– Radio/Sound DJ and Comedian, also known from back in the 1960s and onward with the RHT Invincible, the Gun Court Affair, Obeah Wedding, The Ticklers and other plays and activities.

This year’s IRAWMA Award will also recognize & honor VP Records and IRIE FM Reggae Radio Jamaica for their contributions to the music industry with the ‘Special Legacy Award.’

In honor of hosting the IRAWMA Awards in one of the biggest Diasporas for the Caribbean community, South Florida, three Jamaican/Floridians will be awarded for their ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry.’ Recipients are songwriter Danny Breakenridge, drummer Desmond Gaynor- Code Red Band and Radio DJ, Mikey Brown, of Mikey B. Promotions and WAVS FM.
