Textile production was the star of this show! Custo Barcelona, in his usual tradition did not disappoint with his 75 piece Spring Summer 16 presentation “Slow.” His inspiration comes from “creative, slow cooking” with lots of sugar and spice. I almost jumped off my chair when I saw the intricate details of his “cut outs” which were lined with piping and infused with gold thread, and lace. One usually gets caught up in garment design but I really got an appreciation for textile design after witnessing his craft.
This collection is the most detailed, sophisticated and well-crafted that I have seen thus far. Each piece has its own theme behind it. The immersion of colors create a bohemian chic feel. Custo has managed to outdo himself this season. I can’t wait to see what he whips up for his next fall collection! in the meantime, let’s just soak up these eye catching designs.
