Jamaican bandleader and reggae musician Ziggy Marley and R&B singer Fantasia will headline August’s Jackson Rhythm & Blues Festival at the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum.
Multiple Grammy-winning Marley is the oldest son of reggae legend Bob Marley, with popular singles that include “True to Myself,” “People Get Ready” and “Tomorrow People.”
Grammy-winning Fantasia, who hit the national stage as winner of “American Idol’s” third season, is known for “Bittersweet,” “I Believe,” “Ain’t Gon’ Beg You,” and “Truth Is.”
Also on the roster with Marley for Aug. 15 are Denise LaSalle, Marc Broussard, Janiva Magness, Boney James, Southern Komfort Brass Band and Mr. Sipp, with more expected.
Joining Fantasia on the Aug. 16 lineup are Bell Biv Devoe, Chrisette Michele, Dorothy Moore, Bobby Rush, B. Smyth, Curtis Salgado, Homemade Jamz Blues Band, Rebirth Brass Band, John Primer, Lightnin Malcolm, Johnny Rawls, Joe Lewis Walker and Jonathan “Boogie” Long, with more expected.
