Congratulations and biggups to Bunji Garlin for his Best International Performance win at last night’s Soul Train Awards. The proud Trinidadian soca artist took to social media immediately to express his thankfulness:
This is for my family and this is for my fans and this is for my country. I thank every single one of you and pray God bless each of you.

The well deserved win helps to continue weaving soca music into the fabric of America’s musical landscape. Bunji Garlin beat out Iyana “Ur Waist”, Emeli Sande “Next to Me”, P-Square “Personally” and fellow soca artist Machel Montano’s The Fog” also fell victim to the extremely popular Carnival chune!
Next week (between Dec. 8 – Dec. 13), Garlin is slated to arrive in New York City to promote his lead single “Differentology” and deliver a special surprise performance to be announced at a later date.
