Grammy-award winning R&B singer R. Kelly recently fell ill due to complications from throat surgery. I attended Reggae Sumfest 2011 and like many other concert goers, was very disappointed when R ruh was unable to perform pursuant to an emergency throat procedure. Hence, I was equally excited to learn that Mr. R ruh would be making it up to his fans by making an appearance at this year’s Reggae Sumfest. Now, to learn of that R. Kelly is ill again, I feel like I’m on a reggae rollercoaster!
Despite my concerns, Sumfest organizers maintain that they have been in contact with R Kelly’s management team and have been advised that he is suffering from a simple case of laryngitis.
R Kelly’s team is allaying the concerns of festival goers by assuring the Sumfest production team R rah (aka R. Kelly) will definitely (read hopefully!) be performing on Reggae Sumfest 2012 as scheduled.
