Reggae Month officially kicks off today. In celebration and reverence to our reggae legends including Bob Marley, Dennis Brown many events planned in and around Atlanta including Reggae Week 2012 and Bob Fest. This year the celebrations also mark the 50th Anniversary of Jamaicas independence. Today, WRFG 89.3 FM Atlanta kicks off a 7 hour Radio Special ROOTS ROCK REGGAE from 8PM-3AM (your girl Red Carpet Shelley will be on 8-9PM). Annual Reggae Week Community Lecture at the Auburn Research Library on Wednesday, February 8th @ 7pm at the Auburn Research Library. The speaker this year is: Professor Dianne Diakite of Emory University and the Topic: African Religious Cultures In The Caribbean: Kumina, Myal, Obeah and Rastafari in Jamaica, Voodoo in Haiti and Orisha in Trinidad.
