New York, NY – June 18, 2013 – BET Awards ‘13 just keeps getting BIGGER and BETTER with music and film’s top female talent added to television’s biggest show of the year! Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Ciara and India.Arie were just announced as performers, while La La Anthony and Paula Patton were added as presenters to this year’s show airing live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 30th at 8pm *ET/PT.
The exciting list of leading ladies join previously announced presenters Angela Bassett and Gabrielle Union; and the male talent line-up which includes BET AWARDS ‘13 host Chris Tucker and performers R. Kelly, Miguel, Chris Brown, and Kendrick Lamar. Miami Heat basketball star Dwyane Wade will be honored with the Humanitarian Award presented by State Farm and R&B singer/songwriter Charlie Wilson will receive the prestigious Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award.
The BET Awards Pre-Show, “BET AWARDS PRE-SHOW: LIVE! RED! READY!” will be hosted by Bow Wow and Angela Simmons airing live on Sunday, June 30th at 6 pm*
Additionally, actor, singer and reality star Ray J will host the BET Awards Nomination Special: The Chosen, airing Wednesday June 19th at 7:30pm*. During the episode, Ray J will chat with some of the show’s nominees and will make a surprise announcement about the BET Awards ’13 show.
This year, the activity and excitement expands with the first ever BET Experience at L.A. LIVE! This three-day festival filled with comedy, gospel and soulful music concerts, seminars, film screenings, “106 & PARK” tapings and so much more will build anticipation for the finest BET Awards show yet.
