JOEL Chin of VP Records was shot and killed last night at his home in Stony Hill, Jamaica. Joel Chin is credited with signing Sean Paul to VP Records. Sean Paul expresssed his feelings via Twitter (@duttypaul): “AS ANOTHER BRIGHT LIGHT FADES WE GIVE TNX 4 LIFE AN REMINICE. R. I. P. JOEL CHIN”
Police report that Chin was pounced upon by gunmen as he exited his motorcar at his Stony Hill, St Andrew and shot him several times. Residents, who heard the gunshots, summoned the police. Chin was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The incident occurred about 10:45 pm.
The 35-year-old Chin is the grandson of VP Records founders Pat and Vincent Chin. Story developing
