Prominent international leaders join to present the 2013 Ambassadors Inaugural Ball. This exclusive black-tie affair will be Monday, January 21, 2013 at The Mead Center for American Theater, Home of the Arena Stage at 1101 6th Street SW. From 7:00 PM-1:00 AM, representatives from nearly 200 nations will converge on the Nation’s Capital to celebrate the reelection of United States President Barack Obama with decadent food, premier entertainment and ceremonial dance.

The Ambassadors Ball will host the most prominent luminaries of international politics, business and entertainment. Special invited guests include President and First Lady Michelle Obama, Heads of State, ambassadors, dignitaries, consuls general and other embassy officials from around the world. The event will attract members of the United States Congress, State Department officials, cabinet members and other appointees.

The 2013 Ambassadors Inaugural Ball: Promoting International Peace, Unity & Diplomacy will be the first inaugural ball hosted exclusively by the international community. With over 2,000 expected guests, this soiree will be one of the most memorable inauguration events. Host committee members representing a myriad of diverse races, religions, cultures and countries have partnered to present this event, including; Ambassadors to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Kosovo, Morocco, Cyprus and the Republic of Botswana.

“In addition to saluting President Obama, this historic event will recognize the critical roles that ambassadors perform every day to promote peace and diplomacy as well as garner support for humanitarian causes,” said Host Committee Co-Chair and Ambassador of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, His Excellency Dr. Neil Parsan. “With the world’s attention focused squarely on Washington, D.C. and the inaugural activities, we hope to use the occasion to bring much needed attention to the pressing issues plaguing our world, including poverty, human trafficking, AIDS, global warming, lack of medical care, and food security,” he added.
