ICS Names Reggae Artist Laza Morgan Musical Ambassador for National Caribbean American Heritage Month (NCAHM)

The Institute for Caribbean Studies (ICS) led by Dr. Claire Nelson has announced its selection of Jamaican-American reggae artist Laza Morgan as Musical Ambassador for National Caribbean American Heritage Month (NCAHM).  As NCAHM Musical  Ambassador Laza will help spread the word to a younger audience that June is Caribbean American Heritage Month.  He will also serve as a role model to other young Caribbean American musicians and artists.

Morgan, son of acclaimed Jamaican music legend and hit maker, reggae singer Denroy Morgan, was born into the Morgan Heritage Family Dynasty of reggae music and has been surrounded by music his entire life. Laza grew up in Brooklyn, NY, attended school in Springfield, MA and lived in a distinctly Jamaican household.

Laza Morgan, a Jamerican  reggae singer and rapper is best known for his single “This Girl” which was featured on Disney’s Step Up 3D and his hit single “One by One” featuring Jamaican dancehall sensation  Mavado.  which topped the Jamaican Reggae Singles Chart.  Laza is set to be back on the road for Summer 2013 to do a Europe tour, promotions for his new single “All that she wants” and to release an album in Europe and Asia. “All That She Wants” is already on rotation on the biggest radio stations in Europe. Laza plans to now bring back the energy and success of the song and release it to the US and Caribbean markets this summer. Just like he did it with “One by One”, there is no doubt he can do it again with “All that she wants”.
