Wyclef Jean Gives Atlanta the Boot

Wyclef Jean came to Atlanta recently to promote his new line of Timberland boots called Earthkeepers. Wyclef partnered with Timberland to promote the eco-friendly Timberland boots to help support the reforestation of Wyclef’s homeland of Haiti. Timberland also will sell T-shirts designed by Haitian children and a new line of organic shirts and hats will be sold at Jeans concerts. Partial proceeds from the boot sales will go toward the Yle Haiti Foundation which was founded by Wyclef’ in 2005.

Wyclef was very approachable and talkative with his adoring fans. He was patient as he took countless pictures and took some time with everyone – young, old, male, female it didn’t matter. He is the truth. Wyclef has always been one of the most outspoken supporters of Haiti and puts his money where his mouth is by enlisting countless other entertainers to espouse his cause and, most importantly, raise much needed awareness and money for the island of Haiti. Social activism for the benefit of Haiti is not just his talk, its his walk, its his life mission. Yle Haiti Foundation is “a grassroots movement inspiring change in Haiti through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment.” I am a huge fan of Wyclef and if you’re looking for an organization to support, Yele Haiti is a good place to start.
