World Renowned Producers Of ‘Jamaica Jazz And Blues’ Hit South Florida Shores With The Inaugural ‘ONE Caribbean Music Festival’

Broward 100 welcomes the inaugural ONE Caribbean Music Festival as part of its centennial activities. Positioned to be a star studded event, it will feature the multicultural cuisines, sounds and fusion of Kompa, Salsa, Reggae, and Soca at the Central Broward Regional Park on December 13 & 14, 2014

A profusion of music, art, and Caribbean cuisine will provide an assortment of multicultural delights as world class international talent takes center stage at the ONE Caribbean Music Festival on December 13th & 14th, 2014 being held at the Central Broward Regional Park. In acknowledgment of the season of giving, patrons will be encouraged to attend with a toy to donate for a child in the Caribbean. This is an official BROWARD100 sanctioned event.

One-Caribbean

The team, renowned for 18 years of producing the award winning “Jamaica Jazz & Blues”, and working on some of the finest Caribbean music festivals such as the St. Lucia Jazz Festival, Turks & Caicos Music and Cultural Festival and St Kitts Music Festival, plan on bringing a swank and sophisticated festival delivering a musical genre for every taste – from Reggae, R & B, and Latin music, to Kompa, Caribbean Jazz, and more.

This year’s event will feature Grammy winner and Jamaican dancehall superstar, Sean Paul. Having sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, he has become the most successful Jamaican artists of all time on the U.S. charts. His most recent number one single and collaboration with Enrique Iglesias, “Bailando”, has garnered much success including being #1 on various charts in 35 countries including Belgium, Finland, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Spain, and the Latin based charts in the United States. His sixth studio album, Full Frequency is in stores now.

The melodic sounds of Kompa will be showcased by award winning Haitian band, T-Vice, whose musical influences from reggae, merengue, flamenco and modern synthesizing from rock ‘n’ roll has revolutionized the genre and made the group one of the most innovative musicians.

Ragga Soca King, Bunji Garlin is of St. Lucian and Venezuelan descent and birthed in Trinidad and Tobago. Known as the ‘Lyrics King’ and for his high-energy performances, Bunji has adopted a blend of soca and dancehall music as his vehicle of creative expression. Stemming from a lineage of soca royalty, his wife Fay-Ann Lyons will join him as together they take us through their numerous award winning hits like “Catch Me”, “That is Carnival”, “Truck on D Road”, “Differentology” and “Carnival Tabanca”.

Latin Grammy award winning and a South Florida favorite, Nestor Torres will be captivating us with his dynamic Salsa and Latin Jazz assembles. As a Soloist, Nestor Torres’ career has taken him all over the world, including collaborations with Herbie Hancock, Dave Mathews, Kenny Loggins, Tito Puente and Gloria Estefan among others.

Born in the United Kingdom and an ambassador for Lovers Rock, Maxi Priest is best known for his number one reggae single on the American Billboard, “Close to You”. Singing hits like “That Girl”, “Should I”, “House Call” and “Just a Little Bit Longer”, the award winning reggae artist will serenade his loyal female fans with hits spanning over 15 years. From his recently released album, “Easy To Love”, attendees are sure to enjoy his latest sultry renditions. Attendees can expect a safe, secure, family-friendly and fun environment with first class entertainment, services and facilities. More talent will be added in coming weeks.
