“I just want everyone to know that I didn’t intend to hurt anybody, but I learned it’s not my intent that matters. It’s the result. And the result is people are offended,” Giuliana stated. “Therefore, I want to say to Zendaya, and anyone else out there that I hurt, that I’m so sincerely sorry. This really has been a learning experience for me.” ~Guiliana Rancic
Yesterday, Guiliana Rancic, co-host of Fashion Police apologized on air for her offensive remarks about Zendaya’s locs worn to Sunday’s Oscars award ceremony. While I do believe Rancic’s apology is sincere, it begs the question is there a future for a television program where the sole focus is to make fun of someone else’s appearance?
Some have questioned that if Joan Rivers had made the same comment, would it have ignited such controversy? I think probably not but that wouldn’t have made it any less offensive! And there’s several reasons that Joan Rivers got away with so many off color remarks (1) She was a comedian – a VERY successful one at that! (2) she was a pioneer and (3) most importantly she was 80 years old and said whatever she wanted to and everyone laughed along. None of the current resident Fashion Police co-hosts will be afforded the same luxury.
Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osborne threatened to leave the show as a result of this controversy.
I DID NOT MAKE THE WEED COMENT. I DO NOT CONDONE RACISM SO AS A RSULT OF THIS IM SEREIOULSY QUESTIONONIG STAYING ON THE SHOW!

At the end of the day, I believe Guiliana Rancic is apologetic and definitely learned a valuable lesson. Hopefully she can recover from this, move forward and will NEVER repeat her actions.
RCS Sidebar: Not for nothing, but I think ever since Joan Rivers’ untimely demise and the re-launching of Fashion Police Kelly Osbourne is just not the same. I believe Kelly wants to leave the show and this is as good a reason as any!
