Vivienne Tam’s Fall/Winter 2016 collection took us on a trip to China, Turkey, India and Russia with beautiful shimmery colors, textures and prints.  Everything was luxurious and plush.  The collections color palette was made up of striking rich reds, warm earth tones mixed with metallic.  You can tell that Tam wanted you to notice every attention to detail in each garment.  Some of the garments had eccentric embroidery and patterns throughout a few of the designs.

What I loved about this collection is the great use of color.  The way she fused colors with materials and fabrics like suede, leather and wool that were adorned with sequins was masterful.  This season her show took place at Skylight Moynihan Station and the theme for her show was “Silk Road” in reference to the cultural dreamland that spans across the western Chinese frontier.

This eclectic collection of old world meets modern was a great fusion of culture, style and art.  This is the first time that that designer also teamed up with Joy + Peace Footwear, one of the biggest footwear brands in Asia to accessorize her apparel line with.  It was a match made in heaven!  The Joy + Peace shoes were just as dramatic as the clothing that was worn with it.    Enjoy some of the looks from the show.
