GAPPY RANKS’ SINGLE NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER ON iTUNES

UK reggae star Gappy Ranks showcases his world-famous melodicism on his new single, “Generation,” produced by Kemar ‘Flava’ McGregor. Gappy Ranks’ new single will be released Tuesday, March 17, 2015 on iTunes, Amazon and eMusic. The single is currently available for pre-order on iTunes.

The new single – a rich, soul stampede of jazz-flavored toasting – reflects the fire of Gappy Ranks’ creative personality. He crafts his melodies and lyrics in the moment, creating a self-perpetuating avalanche of energy that captivates audiences with heartfelt emotion and blistering vocal chops.

“I don’t plan or write my lyrics,” said Gappy Ranks. “Depending on how I feel that day, I will determine what kind of song I will make. I also unite music and lyrics in an ongoing conversation in which melody and topic are formed. That’s the great thing about music, it has no boundaries to the ear or the mind.”

Gappy’s single also will appear on his upcoming eight-song EP, titled “Generation,” which features performances from Marcia Griffiths, Barrington Levy and the late Sugar Minott. Gappy’s “Generation” EP is scheduled for release Tuesday, April 14, 2015 on iTunes, Amazon and eMusic.

Born Jacob Lee Williams in the Harlesden section of London, UK, Gappy Ranks has recorded three critically-acclaimed reggae albums, and has been a continuous fixture on reggae tours and festivals in Europe, Canada, Australia, Asia and the Caribbean. He was nominated for “Best Reggae Act,” at the 2010 MOBO Awards in connection with his debut album, “Put the Stereo On.” He won the award for “Best Song” at the 2005 Silk Awards in London, UK for his hit single “Little Understanding.”
