Caribbean E-Magazine, Triple the Focus in celebration of their 2 year Anniversary, launched a fashion showcase dubbed, Lights, Camera, Fashion, which was held at the newly opened Milk River Café in Brooklyn, New York on Sunday, October 6, 2013. The event, hosted by Supermodel Stacey McKenzie, featured Caribbean labels drennaLUNA, LaPoshe, Donovan DePass and Pieces NY.
The event started with opening remarks by Creative Director Victor E. Lewis who introduced the host for the night, Stacey McKenzie. Ms. McKenzie is a talented fashion model, runway and model coach. She is also the covergirl for Triple The Focus magazines current issue. She had the crowd laughing all night. She even strutted the runway after being cheered on by the crowd. You betta werk!
After a few remarks, Ms. McKenzie asked the father of Founder and Editor in Chief of Triple the Focus, Stacey Bethel, to introduce his daughter. Ms. Bethel, a little choked up from her father’s introduction, thanked guests along with her family for their support and encouragement since the inception of the magazine, adding that “we would not have made it this far without you and we are truly grateful.”
Editor-In-Chief Stacey Bethel also pointed out that this magazine gives a platform to the Caribbean diaspora and the fashion event was to showcase Caribbean designers that are not recognized in major fashion publications and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC despite their awesome talent. The event was chic, sexy & fun and according to Stacey it won’t be the last!
