The Ramblers Tales is Back!

Tomorrow, October 16, the Rambers Tale returns! The Ramblers Tales Prodigal, a relaxing evening of Caribbean Standup Comedy meets Extempo with Calypso and theatrical skits to enrich and excite the senses. The performers will be from the Caribbean, US and UK. The Core of the show is centered on using Extempo-Calypso to bridge the stand up comedy performances.

The show was a huge success in 2009; this new approach to delivering comedy was well received, leaving the audience wanting more.

Last year, the show was performed in Atlanta to a full house and a very satisfied audience. This year, the aim is to widen the appeal of the show by expanding the flavor of humor being brought to the stage, youll get a sense of the current Caribbean humor percolating in the US, London and the Caribbean.

The show will be on Saturday, October 16th 2010 at The Porter Sanford III Performing Arts & Community Center, 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur, 30034.

Participants will include:

  • Errol Fabien is a professional stand up comedian, actor and television presenter who has been headlining comedy tours in the US and Caribbean comedy-circuit for many years. He is also a founding member on the board of the Gayelle Television Channel in Trinidad and can be seen on that Channel as well as SKY TV in Europe. He has previously worked on comedy productions for BBC TV in the UK, expanding the core of his dramatic delivery. He has been nominated for a 2010 Cacique Award, which is the Caribbean equivalent of the EMMY.

  • Fatman George is an actor, presenter and professional standup comedian from Grenada who has been touring the Caribbean comic circuit as well as London. He is also a key comedian in the annual Kings and Queens of Caribbean Comedy show in New York. He can been seen as a key character in the movie Blinded which was released a few years back. He does not exclude using himself as the target in delivering his comic lines. He uses a school-boyish charm to lure you in then, out comes the wit and before you know it, your belly hurts from laughter.

  • Nigel Fabien is the brother of Errol Fabien and is based in Atlanta. They performed as a standup duo in Trinidad as the Fabien Brothers to wild reviews and had a satisfied and growing audience. He was the host of The Ramblers Tales Atlanta in 2009. He recently completed a mini Comedy tour of Atlanta and Charlotte, North Carolina, Featuring him and Nikki Crosby. He is a main stay as a comedic host on the stage of the annual Atlanta Caribbean Carnival scene. His entry into the comedy scene came as a teenager after he won a comedy competition in Trinidad.

  • Miss London is the winner of the 2009 Best New Female Comedian in the UK and she has amassed a strong following in a very short time; affirming that she deserves this accolade. She brings to the stage a spunky youthfulness that has the mature folks reminiscing and candid approval by the young at heart. Her social commentary is here and now, she draws on relationship and experience that is London-centric and certainly British at its core. Miss London is a Television presenter for BBC TV in London. She undertook Television studies in University before getting into the hotpot of Comedy.

  • CharmaineJoan has been described as a one-woman phenomenon by Caribbean theatre critics. She was the first Jamaican to graduate from the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York and have been enticing us with her craftwork on Stage, Television and radio. For many years, she was the voice of Floralee, in the highly acclaimed Jamaican radio drama The Fortunes of Floralee. As the star in Hugh Kings play Nightwork, she became the only actor to perform over 100 consecutive performances in a play. In her performances, she holds that uncanny ability to draw you into feeling and tasting the characters moods and emotions. She views every performance as a new creation of art.
