Over the weekend in Orlando, the NBA Allstar game was not the only hot ticket in town. Fresh off his recent Grammy win for Revelation Pt. 1: The Root of Life, Stephen Marley performed at the Bob Marley Cafe in Orlando. The performance was in celebration and commemoration of his father Bob Marley’s birthday and it was memorable!
As I approached the venue, I noticed that the place was JAMMED!!! It was a beautiful evening, the kind that promoters dream of when planning an outdoor event! There were people of all races, color and creeds coming together for one cause, the love of reggae music!
Stephen Marley performed many Bob Marley classics in addition to some of his own music. Stephen, as usual, wore his heartwarming, endearing smile all night long. He was a pleasure to watch and listen to. Although I’ve seen him perform before, Stephen seemed particularly exuberant on this night. Perhaps Bob Marley’s spirit resides at the 56 Hope Road replica at the Bob Marley Cafe!
Stephen alone is extremely talented but the audience was given a special treat when Spragga Benz came on stage for a brief cameo. It was short and sweet but very well received by the surprised concert goers. All in all, it was a great show!
