Splash Island Water Park St. Lucia is opening early August 2015 at Bay Gardens Beach Resort on Reduit Beach, St. Lucia.

Simply Beautiful St. Lucia, home to the majestic Piton Mountains and the world’s only drive through volcano, has always been known as an island of mystery and romance. Recognized repeatedly as the one of the world’s top honeymoon destinations, St. Lucia has become a haven for romantics and lovers of soft adventure.

But starting this summer 2015, St. Lucia’s Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay Village will become the home to the Eastern Caribbean’s first open-water sports park and one of the Caribbean’s wettest and wildest family attractions!

Splash Island Water Park St. Lucia opening in August 2015 will be located on Reduit Beach in front of Green Globe certified and multi award winning Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa, which is rated among the top 100 hotels in the world by Expedia and Fodors. The Family Travel Network also recognizes Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa as one of the Caribbean’s top 25 Budget Family Friendly Resorts.

Kids, families and weekend warriors alike will delight in this Caribbean water park’s many obstacle-course style features. The new attraction will not only provide a floating playground of fun but balance athletic ability with plenty of slips, thrills, and spills. “It’s like being a contestant on “Total Wipe Out” (the famous smash hit TV game show) but much less intense,” says Julianna Ward-Destang, Bay Gardens Resort Director and park developer. Splash Island St. Lucia will have endless on-water activities to lure guests and keep them coming back for more including a trampoline, climbing wall, monkey bars, a swing, a slide, hurdles, double rocker, flip and water volleyball.

To ensure everyone will have a chance to enjoy this new attraction, Resort Director Julianna Ward-Destang announces that from the opening of Splash Island Water Park, Bay Gardens will be offering free admission each week to under-privileged children around the island. Admission tickets will be gifted to young people who are giving back to their communities in a positive way and excelling at school, in sports, or in other endeavors.

From the planning stages through to the opening of Splash Island Water Park, environmental considerations have been of paramount concern. German watersports company, Wibit Sports, who have over 15 years of experience in the water park business have created this inflatable, modular attraction. All components are in compliance with the strictest European safety requirements (EN 15649) related to materials and performance. The water park has a low environmental footprint and careful consideration has been given to any affects it may have on marine life. There are over 200 Wibit Water Parks, in over 60 countries and Splash Island will be the first in the Eastern Caribbean.

The water park attraction, which floats on the ocean, needs no running water and very limited electricity to inflate or re-inflate as required. Special modular construction means that less than 25% of the ocean surface is needed for the attraction’s total space. This allows marine plants to continue performing photosynthesis with constant exposure to sunlight during the daytime. The water park is anchored using concrete blocks on which seashells, corals and algae attach over time to form sea life micro-colonies.

Splash Island will be staffed by a team of certified lifeguards and will operate daily between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. All users of the water park (who must be 6 years of age and older) are required to wear life vests.
