Hollywood star Sean Penn’s organization Haiti relief organization , J/P HRO,has reportedly received a $2.25 million grant to assist with helping the more than 500,000 displaced Haitians get back into permanent housing. Most Haitians, displaced by the tragic earthquake of January, 2010 still remain in tent cities.
Benjamin Krause, a spokesperson for Penn’s organization sayd that J/P HRO received the grant from the World Bank and it will be used to help subsidize rents, fixing damaged homes, building new homes and clean-energy alternatives such as solar-powered water kiosks.
