This week famous girl group TLC made statements about women in music today. Here’s what the group had to say during an interview in Australia where the group is currently touring:
“Everytime I see you, you don’t have to be naked,” says T-Boz. “It’s hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say, ‘Oh TLC must be jealous’, but I call a spade a spade.We became the biggest girl selling group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot. It’s easy to sell sex. We could go around too with booby cakes [breasts] out all day long,’
The comments obviously didn’t sit well with Rihanna not only because apparently they were trying to diss the Bajan beauty but obviously because the statements were not true. TLC makes a living selling sexual innuendo on albums laced with sexually charged lyrics. Whether TLC’s clothes were on or off, TLC sold sex!!
This was not lost on Rihanna who is the Einstein of social media. Rihanna quickly posted a picture of a topless TLC as her Twitter banner. T-Boz responded by saying “last time I checked, I didn’t say nobody’s name”.
Chile, all I know is if you don’t know anything, know this: don’t come for Riri unless she sends for you!
P.s. In case you missed it, the probable cause for all the ruckus about nakedness was sparked by the barely there outfit Rihanna wore to accept her CFDA Style Icon Award (see below). Riri does have a great assets, so if you got it…..why not?
