RCS was in attendance at the birthday celebration of Windell Beneto Edwards or the artist better known as Gyptian at SOBs, in Manhattan  on Monday October 26.

Gyptian is now on tour promoting his new album  Sex, Love and Reggae.  Gyptian was backed by Derreck Barnett and the Statement band (Pictured above).  Gyptian’s smooth tones had the ladies screaming , he sang several  tracks from the new aptly named SLR album including “Wine Slow”, “G Spot”, “Turn Me On”, “Vixen” and “Sex, Love and Reggae” the title track. Gyptian also pleased the crowd with his mega-hits “Hold You” and “Beautiful Lady”, which we all sang along to.

RCS sat down with Gyptian earlier this year at the Grace Jerk Festival in New York and he discussed the song Vixen featuring with Angela Hunte (check out the website for the interview)  Gyptian had surprside guest artists on the show and  the the crodw erupted when Khago of Nah sell out me fren dem  hit the stage.  Bascom X also took the stage to support his “brother from another mother”  .  VP Records announced earlier this year that  Gyptian’s hit song “Hold You” has officially reached Gold status according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The title-track smash off of Gyptian’s Billboard Top 200 album is the first song from a Jamaican reggae artist to sell over 500,000 copies in almost a decade.

Congratulations and Earthstrong greetings to Gyptian.
