The media peppered Bolt with questions regarding his training and the event presenter fellow Brit Geoff Wightman asked Bolt about his Jamaican fans in NY. He responded that he loved coming to NY and it was his second home because he knows Jamaican fans always come out to support not just himself but other Jamaican athletes. He discussed his motivation. He said he has worked hard to get to the top. Next year will be his 3rd and last Olympics.

Mr. Wightman mentioned that the 2008 lap of honour was quick and how about now. Bolt responded it now takes a long time because fans want to take selfies and not everyone knows how to take a selfie! He also asked what other sport he would do if he was not doing this and he answered hurdles. When asked about the 200 meters, He said he was feeling in good shape and wants to come in under 19 seconds. He said he was motivated and talked about his love of and dedication to the sport. He loves what he does and he tries to uplift the sport. His goal is to become a 3 time Olympic champion.

RCS ASKS BOLT ABOUT MEETING OBAMA

I told him he was a great athlete and representative of the little rock Jamaica and asked how he felt when he met the leader of the free world President Barack Obama.   He said it was one of the most important moments of his life and that he was in awe.  In fact he said he did not know what to say to Obama but liked that he knew the “Bolt” pose!!!

Bolt, a six-time Olympic champion, will contest the 200m, leading an overall field of athletes that includes Tyson Gay (100 meters), David Rudisha (800 meters), Jenn Suhr (pole vault), Lolo Jones (100m hurdles) and former New York Giants running back David Wilson (triple jump)
