On August 6, 2014 Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta enjoyed yet another Wednesday Winddown from Atlanta’s only community station WRFG 89.3FM.  Attendees were treated to a special Caribbean-themed WWD with great performances from some of the WRFG airshifters!

The Afro Haitian Dance Network showcased traditional Haitian dancing with “Coco Diva” Junia and  “Warrior Queen” Martine of Friday’s Global Drumbeat – Caribbean Runnings!.

Not to be outdone, Ras Kofi (Thursday Global Drumbeat) and permaKULTURE gave a rousing performance with lots of fresh vegetables and produce for those in attendance.  Ras Kofi’s music is described as “escaping modern classifications, blends reggae chanting, rapping and singing with lyrics that vividly tell stories, uplift the mental and heal the soul”

Crown & The Black Diamond Band closed out the show and fun was had by all!

Pictures from this infamous WRFG Caribbean Wednesday Winddown are below.  Enjoy!
