Last night, WRFG 89.3FM Atlanta held its annual Caribbean Wednesday Winddown at Centennial Olympic Park.  Despite claims by other Caribbean radio programs, WRFG has been the only radio station hosting Caribbean Wednesday Winddown for many, many years!  Various WRFG Caribbean on-air hosts have brought and will continue to bring great reggae, roots, soca and Caribbean music.

Yesterday’s festivities were no different. Hosted by WRFG’s own Martine the “Warrior Queen” of the popular “Caribbean Runnings” program (Friday’s Global Drumbeat ), Diana Valentine-Brooks of Saturday’s “Rockerz International” and “Sunday Night Fiyah” alongside Atlanta’s popular soundsystem Highlanda with Kahlil everyone had a blast, especially when Ras Kofi literally gave away the fruits of his labor. Despite the fact that I wasn’t amongst the lucky recipients, I still had a great time!!

Biggups to all of yesterday’s performers:  Ras Kofi & Perma Kulture, Kelly Love Jones and Ozara Ode.

ENJOY THE PICS
