iFashion and CAAFD (Council of Aspiring American Fashion Designers) created a joint fashion show featuring Pedram Karimi and Rosenthal Tee for these two independent designers to showcase their lines at Pier 59 during New York Fashion Week.

Pedram Karimi

This futuristic genderless design collection by Pedram Karimi, which seems to be trending for the Fall/Winter 16 season, was very eclectic.  He designed garments that were loose fitting and reminiscent of Asian entire such as a Gi and Kimono stylings.   The color selection for the line was kept basic with black, white and grays, that were perfect for gender neutral pieces.

In his own words how his inspiration comes about is through ‘’the world around me inspires me. The physical, sentimental, sophisticated, gritty everyday is what drives me to express myself in the way that I am and makes me want to create garments that feel honest.”   He has created some very unique pieces and considers himself more so of an artist first, then designer.  I would agree that his line is very artistic expressions of his take on the world of fashion.

Rosenthal Tee

Rosenthal Tee is an emerging new designer who specializes in ready-to-wear and formal/bridal wear.  Her Ready to Wear pieces were a modern day take on 70’s inspired looks with the ruffled bell bottom style pants and car wash details on a dress.  The silhouettes were very flattering and easy to wear.  Her grand finale of evening gowns was spectacular with beading and sequin details.  For Rosenthal, the beauty of evening wear is the sparkle and how to make it more contemporary is how she challenges herself.
