The Secret Garden was a wall with the wafting scent of roses in the air as you entered into the Robert Miller Gallery that was transformed into a mystical and magical world of beauty. Bridal was the theme of the Michael Costello Presentation this season. Lace, organza, satins and silks were draped on the models effortlessly.
The signature colors of the evening were designed in pastels of peach and pinks that coordinated with the wall of flowers. The gowns gave true meaning to the term “modern bride”. These weren’t your mother’s wedding gowns. See-through, slinky and sheer, true to Costello’s styling aesthetic.
He did not discriminate against body types and incorporated representation of full figure models holding their own in the form fitting gowns that accentuated their curves. There was another room entitled “LA Closet Design Backstage VIP Lounge”. In here, you found sketches from his top clients Kim Kardashian West and Beyonce along with the one of dresses that Beyonce wore among other designs from that collection. The presentation drew a frenzy of fashion media coverage and a few celebrities in tow.
Costello continues to be consistent in his work and always true his brand. He definitely created an impactful line this season for the bride who is seeking that next level of chic!
