As previously reported Oprah Winfrey visited Haiti. Oprah told reporters she dined with Haiti’s President Michel Martelly and his wife Sophia. The President had hoped Oprah would agree to be a goodwill ambassador for Haiti but Oprah did not commit. She did however promise to come back.
Oprah also visited a Haitian business called “Caribbean Craft” an acclaimed business that produces carnival masks, sculptures and paintings for export. The business received a loan from a program through President Bill Clinton’s foundation. Winfrey says she will be featuring the adventure in a affairs about Haiti on her Oprah Winfrey Network.
