St. Croix stalwarts Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights have been leading performers of quelbe, the official music of the U.S. Virgin Islands, for more than 40 years. The band, whose members include a psychiatrist, a firefighter, a basketball referee, and a racehorse trainer, make their Smithsonian Folkways debut with this fresh recording of old-yet-new dance music.
