The wait is over and the nominees for the 32nd Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) have been announced. The annual festivities will take place on May 4, 2013 at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Coral Springs, Florida
Mr. Vegas leads the IRAWMA pack with six (6) nominations. Mr. Vegas is having an awesome year, so much so that he is actually competing against himself in one category! He is nominated twice for Best Song for ‘Bruk it Down’ and ‘Sweet Jamaica’.
Damian Marley is not far behind Mr. Vegas with five (5) nominations including the Bob Marley Award for Best Entertainer which he and his brother Stephen will both compete for (how fitting is that!). Sean Paul, Konshens, Romain Virgo and Third World have four nominations. Konshens and Romain Virgo are both vying for the coveted “Best Song’ title along with Damian Marley, Busy Signal and Christopher Martin. Busy Signal, Jimmy Cliff and Marcia Griffiths each have three (3) nominations.
A special RCS biggup to Virgin Islands’ own Pressure Buss Pipe for his nomination in the Most Promising Entertainer category (but truthfully Pressure BEEN in the game…I’m just sayn’!)
