Heavy D performed last month at a Michael Jackson tribute concert with LaToya Jackson
Legendary Jamaican rapper Heavy D died today at age 44. TMZ is reporting that Heavy D — real name Dwight Arrington Myers was unconcious on a walkway when a 911 call was placed from his Beverly Hills home. Heavy D was rushed to an L.A. hospital around noon and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1 PM.
Heavy D will be missed throughout the Caribbean Diaspora as he was one of the most influential Caribbean rappers ever!!. Heavy D’s last performance was last month at the BET Hip Hop Awards.
Heavy D was born in Jamaica in 1967 and grew up in Mount Vernon, New York….R.I.P. Heavy D.
