NAS set to perform at the 25th Anniversary of the 9 Mile Music Festival

After a one year hiatus, the long-running 9 Mile Music Festival returns.  To celebrate its 25th Anniversary, legendary hip-hop artist NAS has been added to the already stacked Caribbean themed 9 Mile Music Festival on March 9th of 2019!

NAS has been a mainstay name in the world of street music since 1991, and his addition to 9 Mile Music Fest fills out the lineup, balancing out musical genres and tastes for all.  Other acts performing this year include Shabba Ranks, Sizzla, Busy Signal, Capleton, Barrington Levy, Spice, Sounds by Mighty Crown and more!

The 9 Mile Music Festival was created to pay tribute to the legendary Bob Marley. The 25-year-old festival is an annual music event which began in 1993 in Miami. 9 Mile was pioneered by Bob Marley’s mother, Cedella Marley Booker, to pay tribute to the legacy of her late son, and his messages of peace, love and unity. Today the festival is put on by Nine Mile Entertainment which is owned and operated by Richard Booker, Bob Marley’s Brother.

The 9 Mile Music Festival has hosted between 10,000 and 29,000 people annually. Previous artist line-up has included, Bob Marley’s children Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley, Julian Marley, Ky-mani Marley and Damian Marley, Carlos Santana, Lauryn Hill, Hootie & the Blowfish, Erykah Badu, Burning Spear, Buju Banton, Sizzla Kalonji, Capleton, Pitbull, 2 Chainz, Future, T.I., Tarrus Riley, Konshens, Machel Montano, Diana King, SOJA, Slightly Stoopid, Thievery Corporation, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Mavado, DMX, India Arie, Inner Circle and Major Lazer.

The 9 Mile Music Festival and Food Drive in Miami, FL. s more than a concert, more than a day, the 9 Mile Music Festival has provided over 4 million canned goods to various charities since its inception, distributing them to homeless shelters and food banks throughout Miami and Jamaica. The festival serves a double purpose, feeding families in need and bringing to Miami the magic and music of Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean. 4 canned goods will continue to be part of the requisite admission for this year’s festivities.
