Gregory Isaacs Laid To Rest

Veteran reggae singer Gregory Isaacs, was given an emotional send off at a thanksgiving service for his life at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston, Jamaica today.


Isaacs, who was 60 years old, died from the effects of lung cancer at his London home two weeks ago

The service, billed under the heading ‘A Red Rose For Gregory’, was filled with musical tributes from Ken Boothe, Shaggy, Etana, Carlene Davis, Freddy McGregor, Judy Mowatt, The Tamlins and AJ Brown among others.

The remembrance was delivered by veteran music producer Castro Brown while tributes were read by former minister of finance Omar Davies, Junior Sinclair and Isaacs’ manager Copeland Forbes. Culture Minister Olivia ‘Babsy’ grange read the eulogy.

Isaacs’ remains will be interred in the Dovecot Memorial Park in St Catherine
