As the premier reggae festival readies for the staging of its 21st show, audiences are in for a fem-powered line-up with the panache to please and tease their fans.

Dancehall Night 2013 is being fueled by the talents of Lady Saw, Spice, Macka Diamond, Danielle D.I. and Baby Tash. Through this sensational line-up of veteran and new talents, Reggae Sumfest 2013 shows that though dancehall has long been dominated by men, the time of the Dancehall Diva has arrived.

Armed with her heels and a slew of hit songs, veteran DJ Lady Saw will strut onto the Sumfest stage making a triumphant return and set to top her spectacular 2012 performance. Last year, Lady Saw’s longstanding reign of the dancehall was made official, when she was honoured by Sumfest as one of the music’s icons. The queen of the dancehall is sure to delight fans with her saucy lyrics and unstoppable bravado.

Reggae Sumfest Dancehall Night 2013 will also be well-seasoned with a dash of the brash and the bold with Spice, whose hits such as ‘Jim Screechy’, ‘My Man’, ‘A Gyal a Chat’, ‘Hide and Do It’, and ‘Body Great’ is sure to make more than tongues wag.

Macka Diamond is set to ‘shine bright’ and dazzle her fans with new hits such as ‘Dye Dye’ as well as Macka classics like ‘Money-O’ and ‘Bun Him’, promising a performance that will prove that where ever she is ‘a deh so nice’.

The relative newcomers to the Dancehall are set to walk tall in the lyrical stilettos of the current reigning Divas. With her debut album The Rebel still fresh from its debut, Danielle D.I. will add her sultry brand of “bad gyal” diva to the night. The performances will continue to bubble and sizzle with the exploits and styles of the rising sensation Baby Tash whose ‘Champion Bubble’, ‘A Di Bubble’ ‘Bumpa’ and ‘Step to Me’ have already begun to ignite the dancehall.

Ashley Martin, Berry and 17 year old Kiarah Dubwah are also among the talented women ready to remind the world why Reggae Sumfest remains the greatest Reggae show on earth. Along with this strong contingent of girl power, Dancehall Night 2013 will also feature blazing performances by Dancehall’s leading men including I-Octane, Beenie Man and Aidonia. Dancehall Night 2013 will also feature Popcaan, Kip Rich, RDX, Flippa Moggela, and Blade Scheemaz.

Reggae Sumfest kicks off with the Beach party on July 21 and continues with Dancehall Night and International Nights 1 and 2, July 25 to 27. The 2013 Sumfest line-up includes a host of other must see performances including international star Miguel.
