Jamaicans are now counting down the days before the arrival of football’s most coveted prize as Jamaica prepares to be the first Caribbean country to host a reception for the 2013 FIFA World Cup Trophy. The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola in an effort to capture the spirit and vibrancy of Brazilian samba football travels with a host of entertainment rooted in Brazilian culture. The entertainment will feature X-factor’s season 2 finalist David Correy a Brazilian native who is the voice of the Official FIFA World Cup 2014 Anthem entitled The World Is Ours. He will travel to Jamaica to perform the infectious, highly motivational song during the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour over the two days of activities surrounding the trophy.

The World is Ours will be the theme of the FIFA World Cup 2014 Tournament and will also be performed throughout the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola as the invigorating nature of the song will be capitalized upon to inject the energy and excitement into the world before Brazil stages the world’s greatest sporting event next summer.  The lyrics of the song are simple yet vibrant and energetic typical of Brazilian carnival and samba culture;

Run like you’re born to fly, live like you’ll never die,

Dare what you dare to dream, and everything in between.

We are drawn by the rhythms that beat throughout hearts,

When we all come together, we are seven billion stars.

Chorus

The world is ours, seven billion Stars,

The world, the world the world,

The world is ours, light up the world.

These lyrics will seek to inspire players and fans alike to reach beyond what is considered normal performance as they aspire to achieve their dreams and excellence in all they do.With a high tempo pop melody complimented by the Brazilian roots rhythms commonly identified with carnival and an inspirational set of lyrics perfect for stadium sing-alongs, which will guarantee euphoric atmospheres inside the games. The song embody the FIFA World Cup journey, starting with a dream and ending with the world, as the chorus states, the world is ours.

The Brazilian singer, Correy who because of his talent and connection to Brazil, was chosen by Coco-Cola to record The World Is Ours, the 2014 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour Anthem. The project saw him working with songwriters and producers Rock Mafia and Mario Caldato Jr respectively.

Born into poverty in Recife, one of the host cities for the 2014 Brazil World Cup, Correy finally got break in music while living in the US, in 2012 when he appeared on The X-Factor reality show, winning the hearts of judges and viewers alike with his vocal chops, inspiring story and relentless optimism.

Correy’s rise to musical stardom was like a dream ironically similar to the very lyrics of the song. One could almost match Correy’s rise to that of Jamaican artiste Romain Virgo who stormed his way through local song competitions such as All Together Sing to cementing his place in music lover’s heart after copping the Rising Stars top prize. Correy is described as, a singer with pure passion for what he does.

On Sunday, October 6 Jamaican will get a chance to see him performing the song live as Coca-Cola hosts FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour Fan Experience at the National Indoor Sports Complex. This entertaining and historic experience comes to the thousands of Jamaicans who, redeem four specially marked Coca-Cola 20oz and 355ml labels for tickets to attend the showcase come Sunday, October 6 at The National Indoor Arena.
