Tyler Perry premiered his highly anticipated latest movie “For Colored Girls” on Tuesday in New York City. The movie is an adaptation of the highly acclaimed Ntozake Shange 1975 play, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf. For Colored Girls is the first movie from Perrys 34th Street Films production company, which is distributed by Lionsgate.
The movie boasts a virtual who’s who of black actresses including Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Janet Jackson, Anika Noni Rose, Kerry Washington, Thandie Newton, Kimberly Elise, Macy Gray, and Loretta Devine.
