Over the weekend and fresh off his United States television debut on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Chronixx, heir apparent to the reggae throne, rocked New York City’s Central Park. The concert, part of the SummerStage concert series drew throngs of regaae lovers and some superstars including Mick Jagger who quietly enjoyed the show from the sidelines. Also sharing the bill with Chronixx and the Zinc Fence Redemption Band were Junior Reid, and The Rice & Peas Crew.

Chronixx, nee Jamar Rolando McNaughton Jr, brought his brand of conscious reggae to Manhattan and did not disappoint as he served up familiar hit songs like “Here Come Trouble” ‘Smile Jamaica” and “They Don’t Know.”   Many fans in the crowd proudly waved their Jamaican flags.  SummerStage was one of the stops on the Chronixx The ” Dread & Terrible ” World Tour that began on March 27th in Amsterdam, Holland.

SummerStage, a free series of summer concerts organized by Okayplayer has been held at Central Park since 1986 and has featured top reggae acts such as the Marleys, Israel Vibration, Inner Circle and Steel Pulse.
