Best of the Best 2010 went down in Miami, Florida.  Since then your girl has been a bit occupied with some personal issues so I apologize for the delay in getting this to you.  That being said, Best of the Best was a great show in my opinion maybe not the best but great!   As usual, the show was very well attended.   There were throngs of flag flying folks as far as the eyes could see.   Of course, you know I got the exclusive interviews, photos, and backstage insight!

First of all, to the surprise of many, most of the Jamaican performers were present.   There were a lot of rumors and concerns given the current visa situation, however, all except Tony Matterhorn and Ding Dong were present.  This exemplifies the commitment of the show organizers (shout out to Joe Buddafucco) as well as the artists to maintain the confidence of the concert going fans.

Mr. VegasNow let me hand out some Best of the Best RCS Awards — the good, bad and ugly.   Let me start with the flyest cat in the building:  Mr. Vegas!   Hands down, the Best Dressed Award goes to Mr. Vegas.  He was sharp as a tack in his well fitted black suit (Hugo Boss I believe) and dark sunglasses — classic.

Gyptian

Best performances for me included Gyptian, Baby Cham, Machel Montano, and Lady Saw (she brought a poor unsuspecting man on stage and had fun with him!).  And even though Nicki Minaj performed over a track (work on that Nicki!), she still has an undeniable stage presence and likeability.   The F-bomb award goes to Flo-Rida.   He dropped the F-bomb so many times I’m thinking maybe he owns the copyright.   He also gets the award for the Biggest Click of performers I never heard of who stayed on stage too long.   Most bling goes to Diddy (as usual!).  The sexy award goes to Gyptian — nuff said….

Kudos to Guccimane he repped for the ‘A’ during one of his first major performances since his release from prison.  And a big shout out to the surprise guest of the night – Busta Rhymes!!   And big ups to the young up-and-coming artists who held it down including G-Whiz, RDX, Stephen ‘DiGenius’ McGregor, Daniel ‘Chino’ McGregor and Romain Virgo.Quincy

The best moment of the night for me wasn’t even on the stage.   It occurred backstage after Rick Ross’ performance.  He walked off stage, turned on the music on the two white open-air Range Rovers that he Diddy and the crew rolled up in and started freesytling under the stars!   It was sick!!    All those who caught that moment know what I’m talking about. And, how cute was Quincy, Diddy’s step-son!  He was back stage getting his young man mack on!  He was hit on by some young girls and he loved every moment of it!

I loved that even though some of the big name reggae artists were not present, the show included some of reggae’s timeless performers such as Cocoa Tea and Barrington Levy – veteran performers. The first lady of dancehall, Lady Saw held it down!!   She is as funny as she is talented.

One of the things I didn’t like was that the set with all the Yankee performers (translation non-Caribbean) was overwhelming.  Maybe it needs to be spread out over the course of the show or something.  Khaled, Diddy, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Nicki Minaj, Gucci all on the stage at one time  with ALL the click members too – a lot to take in!   Well, another BOTB under the belt and all in all a great show — see ya next year!  Check back soon for the video!!!

Shout out to the RCS team for holding me down. Ky and Red Velvet Sandy me luv unno!!!
