Over the course of his presidency, addressing the nation has been a staple of President Barack Obamas agenda. On October 14, BET Studios in Washington, D.C. will play host to the president as he speaks directly with the next generation in a town hall meeting called “A Conversation with President Obama.”

A collaboration between Viacom channels BET, CMT and MTV, the commercial-free airing will place the president face to face with 250 young people in a serious conversation about pressing issues.

The participants chosen to meet with President Obama at BET Studios will cover a broad cross-section of the nation, including varying political, religious and racial backgrounds. To ensure everyone receives a fair chance to ask the president a question, the online audience can utilize “Twitter Tracker,” a web-based tool that will be featured during the live event as the primary way for viewers at home to submit questions and track comments related to the town hall. Although the Twitter Tracker doesnt go live until Wednesday, interested parties can submit their questions now via Twitter.

When submitting to the Tracker, users must be sure to include a hashtag with the word “ask” and a word describing the nature of their question. If the subject pertains to jobs, the hashtag would be #askjobs. For education, type #askeducation. Questions can also be submitted via mobile phone.

Be sure to tune in for a perspective-changing conversation on Thursday, October 14 at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT (tape-delayed 4 p.m. PT) on BET, Centric, MTV, CMT, mtvU and Tr3s.

The event, hosted by BETs April Woodard, MTVs Sway Calloway and CMTs Katie Cook, will be live streamed on BET.com, CMT.com, MTV.com and Tr3s.com, and can be accessed on demand for 30 days after the event.
